Exhibition Bio:
Celebrating the influence of British artists in America, the West Coast Chapter of The University of the Arts London Alumni Association presents The Journey (It’s OK To Go To Art School). An exhibition comparing works created by alumni while in attendance at the university with works from their current practice.
The Journey that each artist pursues is presented through works created while in attendance at their respective college and their most recent artworks. This “parallel look” shows the ideas and creativity that were formed and encouraged during their studies and then manifested in the artists’ developments and careers over years. Through an outstanding visual language and multifaceted layers of meaning the works in this exhibition inspire as much as they present the artist’s ongoing conversation about art.
The exhibition will be held at L.A. Mart in downtown Los Angeles in conjunction with BritWeek. Dates: April 23 – May 6, 2013
